It's my 70th Birthday today and Rebecca has rented us a rustic little cabin on the edge of Mono Lake.

If you're not familiar with Mono Lake, it's a very saline lake in the foothills of the Eastern Sierras. In my mind at least, Mono Lake is the northern gateway to the beautiful (if you like deserts) Owens Valley. Behind us we have pine covered foothills and to the East of us is Mono Lake and the high desert of the Mono basin.

It's been a wonderful birthday so far, we drove into town (2 miles) away for a really good latte and the best scone I've ever had this morning. Also this morning, I unwrapped one of the coolest cameras I've ever seen, a 1930 Zeiss Baby Box Tengor/E. A gift from a friend in Germany, who also face-timed me a little while ago. Thank you Lars! I hope to finish shooting the roll of film I have in it today and post the shots in the near future.

Today though, I just have some high contrast shots of the interior of our cabin with my lo-fi Sun & Cloud.
