Dec. 7th was another 127 Day and I was fairly determined to get a shot to submit. My funky toy Penny King 127 camera was loaded with a roll of 50 year old Verichrome Pan that I'd been wanting to shoot for a while and this seemed to be the right occasion.
Unfortunately, as I began shooting the awkardly lens mounted shutter decided to give up the ghost and remained stuck in the open position. I was able to manually flick it closed, but it took quite a bit of effort, enough that it shook the camera quite a bit and allowed the shutter to remain open of an inordinately long time.
I had absolutely no expectation for this roll. I assumed that that they would all be unusably over exposed, so I was a little hesitant to even bother developing them. I developed them in 1+50 Rodinal for ten minutes. When I pulled the spool out of the can I was shocked to find that almost the whole roll had recognizable images. Of course, they were extremely blurry and poorly exposed, but I thought that several of them had an interesting mysterious quality.
Here are the few of those images that I found the most interesting. Your mileage of course, may vary.
Now I just have to decide which one of these to submit as my 127 Day entry.
